Welcome to Sandspit Alpacas

Alpacas are somewhat timid animals, but very curious. They come in 22 natural color and they have a semi hollow fiber which makes for some of the warmest clothing on earth. With no lanolin, unlike other wools, alpaca is also hypoallergenic.

Our socks, gloves, hats and felted insoles are very popular among local fishermen who require warm gear to battle the harsh New England winters.

We are one of many small farms that send our fiber to New England Alpaca Fiber Pool. This pool then produces alpaca products made entirely in the USA.

Along with a few other wholesale companies, Sandspit Alpacas is a well-rounded alpaca farm and boutique that also offers many hand made items.

Meet Our Alpacas

Sandspit Alpacas is a small alpaca farm located on the beautiful New England sand spit known as Cape Cod. Our small herd of Huacaya Alpacas began when we bought founding Peruvian female, Reina de la Noche, and her gelded son Jumping Jack Flash. Delilahs Twilight Delight is her second, born on 9/17/2008, sired by Comanche Thunder. Delilahs Twilight Delight had her first cria on 7/27/2012 named Delilah's Sweet P, a rich dark brown, sired by Magic Talon.

On 10/5/2010, Sandspit's Golden Nugget sired by Island Alpacas Champion Herdshire CT Estrada was Rena's third born. Finally, a full brother to Nugget, Spandspit's Golden Augustus was born 8/17/2016.

In 2010, we purchased Island Alpaca Annie, a dark silver, gray and white, born 9/6/2006. Annie has gone on to birth Cometa Calente, sired by CT Estrada, Estocada's Velvet Roxianna, a beautiful mahogany color, and lastly, Black Eye Suzie. Suzie, a bright black jet, was sired by our own Sandspit Golden Nugget.

Kramer the Llama

Kramer is our resident Llama. Llama make ideal guardians for alpaca. They are large, strong, territorial animals and will defend the smaller alpaca from predators.
